Casa 02

In a private woodland, a three-level house designed by Luisa Castiglioni in the 1960s according to the principles of modernism stands on the border between Liguria and Tuscany. The house is reached only on foot via one hundred steps through the trees. Without air conditioning, each space has been restored in keeping with its original character—places for those seeking silence, nature, and a balanced way of living between architecture and landscape.

Located on the second floor of the house, the apartment is organised around a spacious panoramic living room, shaped by a large glazed wall opening onto views of the Apuan Alps and he mouth of the Magra.

The apartment 
The main living space combines a sitting area with sofa and wood-burning stove with a dining area centred on the original LCD 1 Table, designed in 1961 by Luisa Castiglioni as an element fully integrated into the architecture. The sleeping quarters include a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, connected to a small study with direct access to the terrace. A second, larger marble bathroom features both bathtub and shower. The kitchen is separate and fully equipped. A generous panoramic terrace and a shaded area in the woods complete the apartment, extending the living space into the landscape.

Guest access 
A staircase through the woods, within the grounds of the property, connects the houses to the village of Bocca di Magra, the river and the sea. Guests can park within the property, near the kitchen garden where tomatoes, lettuce, courgettes, fennel, lemons and apples are grown, and chickens are kept.
